Square KDS setup
Square’s own kitchen display screen (KDS), installed and set up by us on a tablet in your kitchen.
Quoted per venue. Install included. No contract.
What your guests see
Your guest doesn’t see the kitchen screen, but they notice the difference: fewer lost orders, and food that comes out in the right order. In the kitchen, every open order shows up as a card on a tablet, oldest first, with a timer.
- 1
The cashier rings up an order in Square, or it comes in from Square Online.
- 2
It appears on the kitchen tablet as a card with items, options and a timer.
- 3
The cook taps the card when the plate goes out, and it clears.
- 4
Cards change color when they wait too long, so a slow order is easy to spot.
What you get
You get Square’s own kitchen display, set up properly. We mount the tablet where the line can read it, connect it to your Square account, split orders by station and set the timers with your chef. It runs inside your Square account, so if Square charges for it, Square bills you directly — we check your Square plan before we quote.

- Square’s kitchen display app set up in your Square account

Questions about this product
- Is this your software or Square’s?
- Square’s. It’s Square’s own kitchen display app, running in your Square account. We install it, set it up and show your staff how to use it.
- Do we still need a kitchen printer?
- Not for the line. Some kitchens keep one printer anyway, for the pass or for labels on delivery bags. We’ll tell you on the visit if you need one.
- What if the tablet stops working in a rush?
- Orders are still in Square, and if you have a kitchen printer, you can switch tickets back to paper in about thirty seconds. On the Support Plan, we swap the tablet from our stock while yours is repaired.
